Why can't I log in with my modem?

There are a few reasons why you may be unable to log in when you dial a MacConnect access number.  Assuming that your modem is actually dialing and you are hearing modem tones, and assuming you are not entering an incorrect username or password, the most common problems are:

1. There is a problem with our authentication servers that should be resolved shortly.  No action required on your end.

2. There is a problem with the modem pool in the city you are dialing that should be resolved shortly.  No action required on your end.

3. Your account has been suspended for non-payment.  Contact billing@macconnect.com via email or call 631-757-3813 during normal east coast business hours.

4. You have a MacConnect Scout or Explorer account and have already used 200 hours online this month.  In this case you will be unable to log in until the first of next month.  If you need more than 200 hours online each month, you should have a MacConnect Voyager account which carries a cost of $21.95 per month.  Contact sales@macconnect.com to upgrade your account.
